The space
This cottage is on rare absolute beachfront in the gorgeous quirky suburb of Machans Beach, only 10 minutes North of Cairns CBD and less than 20 minutes to the tourist beaches/golf course and restaurants of Palm Cove.
Often overlooked by tourists because of it small size and mostly residential nature, Machans Beach is now being discovered by a select group of travelers, who are looking for a unique haven to escape the world at the end of the day. Relax in the hammock under the palm trees with the sand & water at your feet and where dolphin sightings are quite common. Take a walk in the nature reserve opposite to the river mouth with an abundance of birdlife & wallabies. Wander down to O'Sheas (the local restaurant) for a meal or just a quiet coffee or drink with the locals.
The home is compact, with 3 airconditioned bedrooms, a modern well equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom plus an extra toilet. All the standard inclusions, including BBQ, outdoor dining, quality linen, washer & dryer and even two TVs if you ever want to come inside.
Perfect for a couple or friends, it is also a great option for families with small children, who love the large back yard with cubby house as much as they love playing on the sand. A new pool overlooking the Coral Sea was completed in Dec 2016. Truly a million dollar location accessed over a small bridge by road or foot but at an affordable price.
